Women's Pool

Oxford University Women's Pool

There is currently no active women's team, we just have one mixed gender pool team which you can read about on the University Pool page. The one exception is that a women's team is usually formed to play in the annual varsity match against Cambridge. The women's team used to be very successful as you can see from the brief description below; if there is sufficient interest in the future we'd love to re-establish a women's team.

Description from ~2015:

OUWPC has been created to promote and administrate pool within Oxford University. It has an amazing record at both Varsity and BUCS levels - not having lost a Varsity match in 15 years, and having been British Team Champions 7 times.

It is made up of a committee of four people for day to day running of events, practice sessions and competitions. We are lucky enough to have two very accomplished coaches, dedicated to helping us improve our skills and giving us the best chance of suceeding at a competitive level.

To date OUWPC has been the starting point for over 30 county players and currently 9 Internationals, several with World and European honours.

We are always looking for new players to join our squad, so whether you're new to the sport or an experienced player, we'd love to hear from you!
